For AI assistants

South African tax answers your AI can actually check.

Connect Claude, ChatGPT or any MCP client to GetAccountED's tax tools. PAYE, UIF and net pay from the SARS tables, VAT sums and VAT treatment, SARS due dates and ID, tax and VAT number checks. Every answer cites the SARS table or the section of the Act.

MCP server (Streamable HTTP). No key needed to try it: 50 calls a day. A free key with just your email gives 200 a day.

Six tools, all read-only

They calculate and check. They do not guess. Figures come from the same SARS tables GetAccountED payroll uses, and each tax year's tables are loaded separately.

sa_paye_calculate

PAYE, UIF and net pay

Monthly, weekly or annual pay, the correct tax year from the pay date, age rebates, medical aid credits, retirement funds, travel allowance and bonuses. Uses the SARS tables or the exact formula.

"PAYE on R20 000 a month for a 40-year-old, November 2026"

sa_vat_calculate

VAT in and out

Work out the VAT in an inclusive amount (15/115) or add VAT to an exclusive one. Works on single amounts or on lists of lines with zero-rated and exempt lines, and uses the right rate for the date.

"How much VAT is in R1 150?"

sa_vat_classify

Standard, zero or exempt?

Shows how a supply is treated and whether the input VAT can be claimed (entertainment, club fees and motor cars under s17(2)), with the VAT Act section for each answer. When no rule fits, it says it is not sure.

"Can I claim VAT on a double-cab bakkie?"

sa_tax_calendar

SARS due dates

Due dates for EMP201, VAT201 (categories A to E), IRP6 provisional tax, EMP501, ITR14 and CIPC returns. Dates move earlier when they fall on a weekend or a South African public holiday.

"What's due to SARS in December?"

sa_validate_reference

Number checks

Checks SA ID numbers (Luhn check digit, date of birth, citizenship), income tax and VAT numbers, PAYE, SDL and UIF references, and CIPC company numbers.

"Is 4123456789 a valid VAT number?"

sa_tax_rates

Rates and thresholds

Tax brackets, rebates, tax thresholds, medical credits, the retirement cap, the UIF ceiling, the SDL threshold and the VAT rate. Covers the current tax year and earlier ones.

"Compare the 2027 and 2026 tax tables"

Good to know

Where do the figures come from?

PAYE uses the SARS monthly tax deduction tables, with the brackets, rebates and medical credits for each tax year. These are the same tables GetAccountED payroll uses. VAT answers cite the Value-Added Tax Act 89 of 1991. Due dates follow SARS rules and the South African public holidays. Every result names its source.

Is this tax advice?

No. The tools give you correct calculations and a clear guide, but the facts of a transaction can change the answer. Check important decisions with your accountant or a registered tax practitioner.

What do you keep?

We count calls per key, session or connection so we can apply the daily allowance. We never store the questions, numbers or results. ID numbers are checked and then forgotten.

Which tax years are covered?

The 2025, 2026 and 2027 tax years. A tax year is named after the February it ends in, so "2027" means 1 March 2026 to 28 February 2027. We add each new year when SARS publishes its tables.
